A former student of Taipei National University of the Arts and an arts practitioner and performing arts critic, Lin Zhengwei chose to join the Institute of Architecture and Urban-Rural Studies at National Taiwan University to relearn the knowledge and methods of community creation. By directly connecting communities/rural areas to the cultural forces of global change, art and culture have the potential to aid community growth and ameliorate problems. Having left the city for the countryside, he believes that art and community are inextricably linked, and that this knowledge must be translated into a 'people-centred' practical basis, creating a more socially committed and humanistic energy for action.
曾就读台北艺术大学、身为艺术工作者和表演艺术评论人的林正尉，选择进入台湾大学建筑与城乡研究所，重新学习社区营造的知识与方法。让社区/农村直接衔接全球变化中的文化力量，进而让艺术与文化成为辅助社区成长及改善问题的潜能。从都市离开前往乡村的他，认为艺术与社群关系密不可分，须将这些知识转为「以人为本」的实践基础，创造更具社会使命与人文关怀的行动能量。
近两年，林正尉与苗栗县三湾乡青年温心榆等人，成立「艺渡．三湾」文化空间。「艺渡」源自「义渡」一词，是清领时期，有经济或其他能力的社区民众协助需要帮助其他人渡河的良好精神。透过艺术的「渡」，可以怎么做呢？
在一个近6500人，多是人口外流后的高龄者、孩童与外籍看护所在的客家聚落，他们更关注不同族群如何共享文化的基本权益及价值，此举有别于地方当局对传统「客家意象」的形象复制策略。为此，他们于2019年相继引入德国、泰国、印度尼西亚等地的人脉及资源，直接将文化近用的权利（access to the culture）落实于「需要在地陪伴的社区居民」，进而产生地方荣耀。
此外，林正尉担任2019年印度尼西亚「望加锡双年展」共同策展人。这是继90年代雅加达当局排华政策后的标志性意义：是当代由华裔策展人协助建构在地华人在苏拉威西岛的迁徙事迹，包含在地广东（含客家）、福建等居民的生命故事，与艺术实践者的创作共同对话。

Over the past ten years, Lin has created, curated/exhibited, invited critics and conducted research residencies in Taipei, Hong Kong and Macao, Hanoi, Milan, Makassar, Ulaanbaatar and Mexico City.
In addition to being a PhD student at National Taiwan University, Lin is a co-curator of the 2019 Makassar Biennale in Indonesia and is a representative member of the 2019-2020 Mekong Cultural Hub.
近十年来，林正尉创作、策/展览、受邀评论与驻村研究经验，包括台北、港澳、河内、米兰、望加锡、乌兰巴托与墨西哥市等地。
除了台湾大学博士生身分之外，林正尉同时是2019年印度尼西亚「望加锡双年展」（Makassar Biennale）共同策展人，他也是2019-2020湄公河文化中心（Mekong Cultural Hub）的代表成员之一。
