Artists Statement:
For several years now the work that we develop examines the norms that define dance and the live arts. Our involvement touches upon several points, by exploring, among other things, the limits of the human body and of representation. The work explores the various frameworks that condition the body and mind by re-inventing the methods of exposition, production and appearance in performance. By integrating the place occupied by spectators, programmers and institutions into these processes, this approach re-proportions the choreographic field and the position of the choreographer, and applies it outside the original context. At the centre of today's evolutions and possibilities, the projects that we propose confront the socio-political issues of our times.
Artists Bio:
Annie Vigier was born in 1965 and Franck Apertet in 1966. They live and work in Paris.
Annie Vigier & Franck Apertet (les gens d’Uterpan) examines the norms that define dance and the live arts. By appearing in different frameworks that reveal the action of the body, or by adapting to them, they provoke the conditions for a new reflection on the different methods of representation, production and interpretation of performance.
Their pieces have been presented at the Project Arts Centre Dublin (Ireland), the Tate Modern London and the Institute of Contemporary Arts London (United Kingdom), the Kunsthalle Basel (Switzerland), the VI Cali performance Festival (Colombia), the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (Poland), the Kunsthaus Graz-Museum Joanneum (Austria), the Berlin Biennale for contemporary art 2008 and 2010 (Germany), the Nam June Paik Art Center Seoul (Korea), White Box New York (USA) among other places…

两位艺术家安妮·维杰尔与弗兰克·爱普泰特（来自乌特潘的人艺术小组）此次除了带来现场作品《Caster》（2月17日晚7点，外滩18号3楼）之外，还将就现场艺术以及他们的过往创作等话题在外滩美术馆艺术夜生活现场进行更为详尽的介绍与讨论。

艺术家自述：
长期以来，我们的作品主要以舞蹈艺术和现场艺术的标准为探讨主题，致力于探索身体的极限和身体的再表现。通过对行为艺术论述、创作和表现方法的创新定义，作品对各种影响身体和心灵的框架和因素进行了深入的探索。把观众、空间、程序人员和各种体系都融入艺术实践的过程之中，对编舞的领域和编舞者的定位进行了新的界定，拓展了原先的语境。当今世界充满了各种变化和可能性，我们的作品直面时代的各种社会议题。
艺术家简介：
艺术家安妮·维杰尔（Annie Vigier，1965年出生）、弗兰克·爱普泰特（Franck Apertet，1966年出生）现生活、工作于法国巴黎。
安妮·维杰尔和弗兰克·爱普泰特（“来自乌特潘的人les gens d’Uterpan”艺术家小组）以舞蹈艺术和现场艺术的标准为探讨主题。在不同的框架中展示肢体的动作，不断调整、不断适应，两位艺术家试图激发观众关于行为的各种表现、创作和诠释方法的思考和反省。
他们的作品先后在都柏林Project艺术中心（爱尔兰）、伦敦泰特现代艺术馆、伦敦当代艺术学会（英国）、巴塞尔美术馆（瑞士）、VI Cali行为艺术节（哥伦比亚）、华沙当代艺术馆（波兰）、格拉茨现代美术馆（奥地利）、2008及2010柏林当代艺术双年展（德国）、首尔白南准艺术中心（韩国）、纽约White Box画廊（美国）等重量级国际艺术场馆和活动中展示。
