About the Artists/Performing Groups
Grass Stage
A theatrical group formed in Spring 2005 in Shanghai, the Grass Stage is currently led by Zhao Chuan who manages the group’s events and creations. By inspiring and encouraging the ordinary people to become increasingly involved in theatrical and artistic creations, the Grass Stage tends to break the limits of aesthetic imagination as part of the art-and-society ties, and calls for a new round of “Theatre-for-the-Society” campaign. With an emphasis on the ties between theatrical activities and creative work, Grass Stage is versatile in applying diversified venues for its not-for-profit rehearsals, discussions and “Cultural Station” events to relentlessly create on-the-move theatrical spaces for the society.

Baiyu
A representative figure of the local folk music of Shanghai, former member and lead singer of GRUNGE, best known for his Xiaomin is a Robot and now a contracted singer with Lalaso Records, the Guangzhou-based independent music producer brand. Yin Yi
Born in Shanghai, composer and sound artist. Yin Yi’s works include: live performance, modern dance, plays, physical theatre and movies. Since 2008, he has been involved in the planning and organization of a series of collaborative performances entitled Fringe & Field which incorporates multiple forms of art. He founded the BM Space in 2011 and its focus has been on physical performances and experimental music performances.

草台班
草台班是2005年春在上海发起的戏剧团体，由赵川主持活动和创作。草台班激励普通人投身剧场和创作，拓展文艺与社会关系的美学想象，倡导新的社会剧场运动。草台班强调戏剧活动与社会的关联，不拘一格地利用各种场地，进行非牟利的排演、讨论和举办“文化站”等活动，不断塑造出流动的社会剧场空间。
