In connection to the themes of the current exhibition Share, But it’s not Fair, RAM in collaboration with Colorbox Arts are launching a series of 4 workshops for children.
Workshop IV -Found Object Assemblage
Date: Sunday, 26 August 2:00-4:30 pm
Venue: Associate Mission Building, 169 Yuan Ming Yuan Rd
Age: 9-12 years
Instructors: Huang Ying and Monika Lin
Fee: 100RMB/ Family, Maximum 20 kids are admitted.
What is a “found object” and what is it’s meaning? Artists such as Louise Nevelson and Julian Schnabel worked for many years with such materials. Using everyday items including discarded parts of furniture and boxes, Nevelson made huge, modular wall sculptures while Schnabel used plates and other household items as part of his energetic mixed media paintings. We will make our own versions of both.

什么是“现成品”，它有什么意义呢？艺术家如路易丝·奈纳尔森和朱立安·施納贝尔一直使用这样的材料进行创作。奈纳尔森用日常生活中废弃的家具和盒子制作了巨型的浮雕，而施納贝尔用盘子和其他家用物品制作了充满活力的混合材料绘画。通过本次工作坊，孩子们会做一个自己的“拾得物艺术品”。
