Workshop I - Fantasy Animal Legacy

In our first workshop we explore one aspect of the 'Time Traveller' theme by creating
fantastic animals that could have existed, thinking about their structure and skeletons.
Utilizing everyday objects placed around the room, we will re-create our own natural history
specimens by making rubbings of the surfaces to create materials for collaging. We will
look at Surrealists such as Max Ernst and some of Pablo Picasso's work to fire the
imagination and use the rubbings and collages to think about structure and form, to create
and then display our own fantasy animal legacy.

此工作坊将通过“创造”那些已经存在的珍奇动物，思考它们的结构和骨架，来探索本次展览主题“时光旅行者”。利用那些放置在我们周围空间的日常事物，通过拓印表面的方式来制作拼贴的材料，从而重新创造我们自己的自然历史标本。我们将追寻超现实主义艺术家恩斯特（Max Ernst）及毕加索（Pablo Picasso）的一些作品来启发想象力，并利用拓印和拼贴的技术来思考结构和形式，最后创造并展示我们自己的奇幻动物化石。
