On the second floor of Tobias Rehberger’s exhibition is portrait vases (1997-2019), a “group exhibition within an exhibition,” in which a collection of 50 uniquely composed flower-adorned sculptures reveal the aesthetic quirks of a community of artists and friends associated with the artist. The sculptures in various shapes dotted with different flowers are the avatars of his friends, as if one can know their appearance and different characters by these works.

The same floor also displays sculptures of overlaying oval fiberglass named the mother series. It shows the mother image in the eyes of the artist and contains all the memories and emotions associated with her. Such creations are both interesting and mysterious. From an artist’s perspective, what would a vase look like if it were used to represent your mother? Perhaps it has a soft shape and beautiful patterns composed of curves as your mother is gentle and elegant and speaks softly. Maybe it has a tough outline with strong contrast color blocks, because your mother is capable and candid, as well as a little strict.

The fourth-grade students of the East Beijing Road Elementary School will start with the exhibition tour and then make a paper vase with abstract patterns in class under the guidance of Ms. Yanling. The mother image and character and the parent-child emotional bond will be transformed into visual forms and colors. Each student will also be encouraged to select an item related to the memory about his or her mother and combine it with the paper vase. They can also put a bottle with fresh flowers inside the paper vase. Such mother-related creation is an alternative description of mother and the best gift for her on Mother's Day. By making such a gift, one can recall the time and lives spent with their mother, and share their stories.

托比亚斯·雷贝格在展览的二楼是一个“个展中的群展” ——属于肖像花瓶系列（1997-2019年）的50件独特的花艺雕塑作品呈现了雷贝格与其身边的艺术家和友人的美学奇想。那些造型各异、插着不同花朵的花艺雕塑就是一个个朋友们的变身，仿佛能够看到他们的模样，感受到不同的人物性格。

同一楼层还展示了母亲系列作品，以椭圆形玻璃钢叠加而成的雕塑呈现了艺术家心中的母亲，包含着一切与母亲相关的回忆、不同的情绪和感受，既有趣又神秘。借用艺术家的思维和视角，假如用一个花瓶来代表你的妈妈，这个花瓶会是什么样的？也许有着柔美的造型，布满曲线组成的美丽图案，因为我的妈妈温柔优雅，说话都是轻声细语；也许有着硬朗的轮廓，布满强烈的对比色块，因为我的妈妈干练爽朗，还有那么一点儿严格。

北京东路小学四年级的同学们将以展览参观为起点，然后回到学校课堂，在雁玲老师的指导下制作一个布满抽象图案的纸质花瓶，将妈妈的形象、个性、以及亲子之间的情感体验，进行造型和色彩的视觉转化。同学们还将选取一件与妈妈之间的回忆有关的小物件，与纸花瓶结合成为一体。如果愿意，还可在纸花瓶内部放入空瓶，插上鲜花。一切都和妈妈息息相关。在母亲节之际，这是一次我们对妈妈的另类描述，也是一件送给妈妈最好的礼物。通过制作这样的礼物，回忆、感受与母亲曾经共同经历的生活，与大家分享与母亲之间的小故事。
