About Nicolas Colins
Nicolas Collins is from New York. A composer of mostly electronic music and former student of Alvin Lucier. Nicolas Collins was "a pioneer in the use of microcomputers in live performance, and has made extensive use of 'home-made' electronic circuitry, radio, found sound material, and transformed musical instruments. He has presented over 300 concerts and installations in Europe, Japan, and the United States as a solo artist and as a member of various ensembles. In 2006 Collins' book Handmade Electronic Music: The Art of Hardware Hacking was published by Routledge. He is also the chair of the sound department of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

我们在塑料电路板上对简单的无焊接互补金属氧化物半导体（CMOS）振荡器做些实验，之后大家可以把自己的设计焊接完成带回家，用它们创作音乐，让朋友们羡慕妒忌恨。此外，我们会教大家制作一些独立发声的好玩电子乐器。这期工作坊也会对适用于Arduinos的各种感应器（光线、压力、电极、电位器等）进行详细介绍。尼可拉斯•柯林斯和工作坊学员将于10月13日举行汇报演出：献给略微使用不当的科技。

日程安排：
第一节课：在无焊接电路板上进行振荡器设计与变化的实验
第二节课：将你的最终设计焊接起来并把完成的回路带回家
