Li Jianhong is one of the most active Chinese noise/improvisation artists in present Mainland China. He has started to engage in China’s experimental culture since the late 1990s and founded several groups such as the Second Skin and D!O!D!O!D!, members of which include Pisces Iscariots and Vagus Nerve. Nowadays, he mainly plays guitar and effects pedals and produces improvised music, noise music and psychedelic music with his distinctive style. Since 2008, he has begun to explore the relationship between environment and performance by composing music which he called “environmental improvisation”. His newly-released 3 CD sets, Twelve Moods, Empty Mountain and Here It Is, are the best illustration of this new conception and style.
李剑鸿以吉他的即兴演奏为主，风格游走于即兴、噪音、迷幻音乐之间。2008年开始在环境与即兴演奏的相互关系中开拓创作新方向，以“环境即兴”为名进行系列创作。2011年推出的系列唱片《十二境》、《空山》、《在这里》对“环境即兴”这一概念和风格进行了全新和完整的解析和展示。
