This public program for Tan Jing's exhibition Inlet of Arid Dreams aims to establish a temporary space for collective learning and action through a paper folding workshop. Guided by the action of "folding", the workshop seeks to create opportunities for more intimate dialogues. It offers an alternative perspective to connect the cultural context involved in the act of "folding the lotus flower" with individuals living in China, evoking distant and empathetic memories.
Program Information:
Exhibition Guided Tour: This tour focuses on the Southeast Asian cultural context behind the action of "folding a lotus flower".
Folding Dialogue: Paper folding session where participants can write down their thoughts on the mediums (paper, fallen leaves, etc.) and fold them into patterns of their choice.
Blind Selection & Open Dialogue: Display the final works together. Participants can find a comfortable space within the museum and open the work. They can either keep or share the content within it.
After the workshop, participants can take home a piece of tile fragment prepared by the museum from the exhibition Inlet of Arid Dreams as a souvenir.

“谭婧：旱梦滩”展览的公共项目第二期：旨在通过折纸工作坊的形式，建立一个共同学习和共同行动的临时场所。以“折”为行动方针，期待在折纸的过程中，制造更多亲密对话的机会；提供另种视角思考，“折莲花”这一动作所涉及的文化语境如何和生活在中国的个体产生联系，并勾起更遥远的共情回忆。
活动信息：
展览导览+Q&A：由美术馆策展与研究组成员进行导览，与馆内目前的定期导览不同，本次导览侧重对“折莲花”这一动作背后的东南亚文化语境的解说。
折叠对话：进行折纸教学。参与者将当下的感受或想说的写于美术馆提供的媒介上（纸张、落叶等），折叠成自选花样。一起练习折纸。
盲选+打开对话：将最终作品铺陈在一起互相盲选，参与者可在美术馆空间内找到一处舒适的地方，打开折纸，保留或彼此分享自己选到的折纸作品里的内容。一起探讨折纸，回忆与个人身份的联系。一起练习沟通。
工作坊彩蛋：折纸工作坊结束后，参与者可带走一份美术馆准备的“谭婧：旱梦滩”展览中的地砖碎片，作为纪念。（艺术家谭婧惠允）
