Life is a big supplier of art material. Have you ever imagined that used magazine and cardboard can be made as a building rendering from architectural firm?
In connection to the themes of the current exhibition Model Home, RAM has invited Dutch artist and educator Gosia Grubba- Kleimeerto work on a series of workshops “Model City” with local kids. Kids will be inspired to use their own ideas and experience of surrounding environment to collage their ideal image of city by recycled material.

Venue: 2F, Museum Building
Age: 9-12 years
Fee: RMB 30 for materials. Maximum 15 kids are admitted in each session.

“‘模型城市’拼贴工作坊”是上海外滩美术馆结合当前展览“样板屋——2012林明弘”而为孩子们专门设计的“设计+绘画+手工”活动。来自荷兰的儿童艺术教育家Gosia Grubba为此活动提供了整体的策划，并在现场带领孩子们以“拼贴”的形式完成一个城市的“建造”。
整个活动以展览参观为起点，展开一场启发性和互动性的“发现美术馆之旅”；孩子们的旅程还将拓展到周边城市环境，了解街道、邻坊的结构和建筑的建造过程。在参观和交流的基础上，他们会分工设计、绘制自己的建筑，商量决定城市的呈现样式，并最终共同创造出自己的城市。作品完成后将以展览的形式供其他的孩子们和普通观众欣赏。
“模型城市”将为孩子们提供一个机会，让他们学会用新的方法和不同的视角观察城市和周边环境。他们将会被鼓励运用他们自己的想法，结合身处的环境，利用回收材料去描绘自己的理想。
