About the Talk

The creations of Dai Chenlian and Lin Renzhong coincidentally examine the unconscious daily state of people in today's society. In this era of group performances and carnivals, Dai Chenlian tries to do the opposite. Is it possible for those exaggerated "performance time" to return and disappear in daily life: in this RAM Highlight project, he will The people and objects related to the art museum are set as actors, and the daily work and activities that take place here are selected and extracted, and then rearranged to form a performance, creating a period of time and a series of behaviors, so that "performance time" is hidden in daily life.

Lin Renzhong, on the other hand, focuses on the immaterial labor of the body and how the capitalist social system dominates the daily schedule of modern people. During the performance, the artist began to use the two objects of "alarm clock" and "body" to continuously cycle between sleeping and waking. The repeated sleep-waking process connected in series by the alarm clock wake-up function gradually disintegrates and blurs the meaning of the starting point and ending point in the linear time mode.
