The project Let’s make music works is specially designed for the young kids by Shanghai-based artist group Zuzhi. It consists of three workshops with connection to the on-view exhibition Share, But It’s Not Fair.

The aim of project is not only to teach kids to make a sound instrument, but also to inspire them to discover and recreate daily objects in their surrounding areas. These works made by kids are not standardized musical instruments, and sound is not important in the context of this project. Kids will search founded objects, design, and complete the works, and they will invent a new kind of sound. A simple created sound is to deconstruct normal education. In the last session, kids will play their own musical instruments and hold a special concert to the public.

The proposal of recreating founded objects is similar to the way of contemporary art practice. Through the process of kids’ making works, the art practice is turned to be a way of daily thinking.
