Starting in November 2024, the AUUUUUDITORIUM launched the project Becoming Rehearsal, a process-oriented and practice-based initiative aimed at broadening the discourse on performative practices. At the core of Becoming Rehearsalis an open call extended to Shanghai-based artists and collectives to use the AUUUUUDITORIUM space for rehearsals and gatherings over the course of five months. Participants will engage in workshops led by three international artists: Bhenji Ra, an Australian Filipina artist working at the intersections of dance, video and community activation; Isaac Chong Wai, a Berlin-based Hong Kong artist using performance, video, installation, photography, and drawing as mediators to investigate contemporary global phenomena; and the Vietnamese German artist Sung Tieu, whose artistic practice spans multiple mediums, including sound installations, video, sculpture, photography, performance and public interventions.
Four local artists or artist groups were selected: Ella Xie, Pan Yingda, Awc Chuwen Wang & Wenchu Ye, and Niaowu Art Group. Between November 13 and 30, 2024, xiexie3lla (3lla Wang Olsson) utilized the AUUUUDITORIUM for dance rehearsals, jam sessions, and installation rehearsals. Two months after the conclusion of these sessions, on January 23, 2025, xiexie3lla presented Looking Rich, Feeling Good to the audience.
Looking Rich, Feeling Good is a multidisciplinary performance redefining richness through a story of conflict, healing and play. The story is told through the portal of internet entity xiexie3lla, who signals how to let go of western coded ideas of richness, making wishes for peaceful fortune, and hosting a rave party to get rich. The performance features voice performance, guided meditation, stand up, video, costume change and MC. The performance is in English.
About Artist:
3lla Wang Olsson is a Swedish Chinese multidisciplinary artist working with flow, reflection and reaction. Growing through mind maps, visions and reality, 3lla’s work often embodies the middle ground that exists as a result of contrasting forces: East vs West, male vs female, digital vs analog. Constantly searching for belonging in an increasingly lonesome world, 3lla practices collaboration and improvisation openly, often working within club spaces and the local people who give it life. 3lla’s work can be experienced through performance, video, painting and photography.
2024年11月起，“讲———堂”发起了“成为排演”项目。该项目以过程为导向、以实践为基础，旨在拓宽表演性实践的讨论。“成为排演”的核心内容是邀请常驻上海的艺术家（团体）在2024年11月至2025年3月期间使用“讲———堂”进行排练、活动、聚集等。在五个月中他们参与了由三名国际艺术家带领的工作坊。 这些艺术家是：以舞蹈、影像与社区激活的交叉创作展开跨文化与跨代际的实践的澳大利亚菲律宾裔艺术家本吉·拉（Bhenji Ra）； 运用表演、视频、装置、摄影和绘画等媒介来探讨当代全球现象的常驻柏林的香港艺术家庄伟（Isaac Chong Wai）；以声音装置、视频、雕塑、摄影、表演及公共干预多种媒介，来讨论事实的诠释、现实的检验、混淆的揭示以及对社会控制的越南裔德国艺术家萧崇（Sung Tieu）。
项目召集到四组艺术家及团体：谢爱澜、潘颖达、王楚雯和叶文楚，以及鸟坞艺术小组。其中，谢爱澜于2024年11月13日-30日期间在“讲———堂”完成了舞蹈排练、即兴音乐会以及装置排练等内容。1月23日，艺术家向观众呈现了表演《如何致富》。
《如何致富》是一部跨媒介表演，重新定义了富有的状态，在冲突与治愈的玩耍故事中。谢爱澜打开通向互联网的入口，传递摒弃⻄方观念里的有钱，而是在心愿中获得平和的精神财富，在一场锐舞派对里感到富足。 表演包括声音表演、引导冥想、站立、视频、换装和主持。表演语言为英语。
