Beyond relying on wall texts and brochures, how do we truly know an exhibition and interpret artworks in an exhibition? Even when interpretation is formalised, the museum should aim to move beyond reifying an official narrative, offering the public more pathways for personal meaning-making based on individual experience. We encourage visitors to approach artworks from their own unique backgrounds and emotions.

For the FW25 exhibitions currently on view, we have invited six Grade 1 students from East Beijing Road Primary School to join the museum's guide team, presenting three special tours to the public as the new year approaches. Working against the expectation that museum tours disseminate standardized answers from experts, RAM's Telling Our Storiesprogram practices a visitor-centered form of interpretation. Just as the group exhibition The Great Camouflage introduces lesser-known female revolutionaries, we hope that by serving as art mediators, our young guides will create opportunities for their own public expression and agency.

Supported by the museum's team, our young guides introduced the museum architecture and their personally selected works from the FW25 exhibitions, all from their own unique perspectives and interests. Each tour lasted approximately 10 minutes, was designed for families, and included adults as well.

Telling Our Stories: FW25 Young Guides Program is generously supported by the "100 Exhibitions, 100 Lessons" project initiated by the Shanghai Science and Art Education Center. We extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Chen from East Beijing Road Primary School and the participating parents for their patient support during the workshops.
