The Filipino Super-KTV-Woman Band is a performance by an all-female trio, which unpacks the colonial formation and socioeconomic conditions of Filipino show bands and relocates the performance within the KTV phenomenon. In this body workshop, participants will get a physical glimpse into the process and overall training of the Superwomen performers, so that to reflect on identity by observing the relationship between body, gender, work, society, and commercialization.

Eisa JOCSON is a contemporary choreographer, dancer, and visual artist based in Manila. And the Filipino Super-KTV-Woman Band is a performance by an all-female trio. Together with the artist’s two co-singers, the performance connects an exploration of migrant labor with formative moments of feminine empowerment through the phenomenon of KTV.
