RAM Conversation Red: Body as Archive

ballet was a form of dance enjoyed in royal courts, and in the 1950s had never been used before as a political symbol. ballet entered China infused with ideological significance .For this talk we have invited Wen Hui, creator of Red and Li Jing, Associate Professor of Sociology at Zhejiang University to review and reflect on the fabrication of content within model operas as an art form, with the hope of understanding the relationships between the present age, the individual and art.

The exhibition features three Inuit artists, whose works express the Inuit beliefs and visual culture, as well as their life being part of a whole natural environment. Among the three artists, Tim Pitsiulak is both an artist and hunter. His works represent wildlife such as sea lions, whales, and elk, etc.

In Escape, Cui Jie mixes a modernist imagination and the cracked figures caused by a software error with a symbol from traditional Chinese imagery. We are honored to invite the artist Cui Jie and Zhou Yin, professor of the architecture department at the Hong Kong University, coming together for a discussion on Cui Jie's personal artworks and their views on rapid urbanization in China and how they change people's perception of space.
