RAM Kids Workshop: The Playground of Time and Space – Evolution of Art Exhibitions
Aug 6, 2017 Sunday 10:30 - 12:00
Rockbund Art Museum (Shanghai 20 Huqiu Road, Huang Pu District)
A long time ago, people started collecting rare and valuable objects, whether novel gadgets brought from overseas, or historic relics which could be traced back thousand years ago. Some people tried to put them together to proudly show like brave conquerors how they collected these abundant collections from different time or space. This is the earliest exhibitions. During the past hundreds of years, the forms of exhibitions have varied over time while the exploration of time and space remains to be an eternal theme.
In this workshop, which is one session of the Little Artist Garden “museum” series, children will learn the history of art exhibitions: What is the earliest form of exhibitions? How did the exhibitions evolve into the forms nowadays? What is special about the exhibition “Synchronicity” in the long history of exhibitions? The young participants will also be invited to design a unique time box for themselves, to take a new look at the time and space, which are the most common, yet most neglected in our life.
Little Artist Garden is an art history class and workshop tailored for children, focus on learning key knowledge in the art history, as well as providing varieties of activities in art making and craft building.
