On February 22nd in 2013, RAM is about to hold the John Moores Critics Award Seminar to announce the winners and to make a review and summary for the first John Moores Critics Award. Honorary President of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) Henry Meyric Hughes and other specialists or award winners are going to deliver statements and discuss issues about contemporary art in the question and answer section with the public.
It is co-organized by Cultural and Education Section of the British Consulate-General, Liverpool Biennial and John Moores Foundation (United Kingdom), also sponsored by the DSL Collection (France). The Award as an inauguration is designed to review paintings shortlisted for the John Moores Painting Prize in UK and China，which owns a history of more than fifty years.
The 2012 John Moores Critics Award has finished the selection process through submissions, shortlists and selections. All the shortlisted works would be published along with the award-winning works, to be the relative archive for the catalogue of the 2012 John Moores Painting Prize.
