Aug 19, 2017 Saturday 19:30 - 21:00
Rockbund Art Museum (Shanghai 20 Huqiu Road, Huang Pu District)
Since 2014 when Facebook bought Oculus Rift for $2 billion, the concept of virtual reality has drawn public attention once again as one of the hottest topics in science and technology. In addition to numerous emerging VR startups, many artists have made crossover attempts by using VR to explore new ways of expression. So, what is VR? How has it developed? What historical trends does it represent? How will it influence the art creation and aesthetic understanding? What kind of artworks will it create to change the ways we explore the world? Is there a clear dividing line between the real and virtual? All of these are questions we need to further ponder and discuss.
