About Artistic Creation and Education of Media Art
Hu Jieming is one of the leading Chinese artists specialized in digital media art and video installations. One of the topics that he focuses on is the alternation between the new and the old. He constantly puts forward distinct views and problematic themes through different media such as photography, videos and digital interaction, and uses music to comment on juxtaposed architecture. In his well-known digital synthesized piece “The Raft of the Medusa” (2002), he built his work on the ironic masterpiece “The Raft of the Medusa” (1819) by Théodore Géricault. The artist sets up the concept of “Relevant Generation” by applying computer and communication technologies. His works extend unboundedly from the concept and enlighten the audience.
Wu Juehui works with interactive installation, body language, media theatre and many more. During recent years, he has paid special attention to the multimedia design concept of “Relevant Generation”, exploring the connection between experimental science and media art. Meanwhile, he closely collaborated with institutions specializing in neural engineering, automation control, computer graphics and other fields.
Art Yan will start with the concept and works of the exhibition Augmented Senses A China – France Media Art Project, while Hu Jieming and Wu JieHui will start the lecture with his experience as an artist and as a media art professor, and discuss the future of Chinese media art.... Read More
