【Exhibition Plus · Lecture】Rather be a Doctor: Interpreting the Medical Elements in Chen Zhen’s Artistic Creation
Jun 20, 2015 Saturday 19:30 - 21:00
2F Y.W.C.A Building (Shanghai 133 Yuanmingyuan Road)
Chen Zhen’s works represent his diagnosis and prescription for the morbidity of human nature, culture and society as an artist; and they also reflected his experiences and thoughts regarding human body, psychology, diseases and medical science during his struggle with his condition as a terminal patient from a family of doctors. We believe that to interpret Chen Zhen’s practice experience and art works from a medical perspective is a return to the humanistic nature of arts and medical science a as well as a bold and rewarding cross-disciplinary exploration.
