【RAM Kids Workshop】Creating Your Own Chinese Characters
Apr 2, 2016 - Apr 9, 2016 10:00 - 12:00
1F, Rockbund Art Museum (Shanghai 20 Huqiu Road)
Chinese characters, based on our ancestors’ observation of the world, were created to tell stories, record lifestyles and capture nature. Characters took shape during the abstract process of painting. That is to say, anyone who loves art and has a desire to express themselves can create their own characters and convey their views of the world. In two consecutive workshops spanning two weekends, the artist will guide parents and children to return to the beginning of character creation and instruct them to develop their creative abilities. This workshop is a great opportunity to enjoy the freedom of unfettered and independent thinking and to unleash your boldness and imagination.
Age: 7-10 years
Fee: RMB 200 (free for RAM Family Members)
4/2 Participants will first enjoy a guided tour to exhibition “Ifs, Ands, or Buts” and in the following workshop create 10 to 30 Chinese characters under the guidance of the artist.
4/9 Participants will compile the characters they have created into a collection named Character Kingdom and develop one of the characters to be their personal logo.
