Born in Moscow (Russia) in 1973. Live and works in Moscow (Russia).
In his films, the young Russian artist Victor Alimpiev examines the subtleties of human expression and the relationship between the individual and the collective. His films are often like performative studies in which he focuses on choreography, mimicry, rhythmic, and frequently refers to theater and classical music. He currently uses a highly stylized visual idiom with song, dance and abundant reference to other disciplines such as cinema, theater, performance and opera. In addition, his works seem to be deeply fascinated from human interaction, emotion and physicality. Rather than arranging classic story line in the films, with plot, dialogue or character development, he focuses the attention on looks, gestures and emotions, whether suppressed or highly explosive.
