Informed by her academic background in philosophy and anthropology, Marine Hugonnier's films explores the politics of vision, referring to a belief that images and landscapes are inextricably bound to the historical, social, and cultural legacies that have created them. Through the connections between history and landscape, her works help us understand how our perception can be strongly influenced by pre-existing political and cultural conditions. The act of seeing is not completely subjective, but is largely dependent on the external and intrinsic factors in the history of a country.
